November is Here, You Managing Your Money or Naw?

Well my Ladies, it’s November! YOu know what that means?! The holiday season is upon us! Time for apple pies, jingle bells, long boots and holiday shopping!

During the holiday season you either fall into one of two categories:

1) Holiday Lover
woman holding xmas gift 2) Holiday Hater grinch

This November, instead of going out and balling out with money that you don’t have on extravagant Thanksgiving meals, or Black Friday, let’s start thinking with our MissCFO hat and spend wisely.

Here are 4 ways that we are going to manage our money this November.

1) Establish a November Spending Plan

A MissCFO plans her month before the month begins, but if you are behind that’s ok! Let’s get that spending plan together. For those who are new to MissCFO, a spending plan is your budget. Start with how much money you have coming in. If you have a job that should be easy, what’s your take home pay. If you’re a business owner what is your salary that you pay yourself. If you’re a freelancer, add up all of your income sources. Next, determine how much you are going to pay yourself (save/invest). Next, allocate your bill amounts. Lastly, set amounts for holiday gifts, entertainment, and miscellaneous for the random item you are sure to come across during the holiday season.

2) Get Your Money Buddy

If you know you are weak, make a call in for reinforcements. Get the help of your Money Buddy or if you don’t have one, find a friend or family member who will be your financial accountability partner. This person will help you to stay on track with spending and motivate you when you are working on earning more money. If you plan on shopping during Black Friday, you must have your Money Buddy in tow!

3) Do What Makes You Happy

November kicks off the holiday season and it is the time that is all about giving, which we love. However, don’t forget about yourself while trying to please others. If you don’t want to go to Aunt Shelly’s for Thanksgviving, don’t go. If you don’t want to participate in the staff Secret Santa at work, don’t participate! The first step in successfully managing your finances, is successfully managing yourself. Remember:

wealthy woman is happy

4) Get a side hustle

Are you not earning enough money to do what you want this holiday season? Well get your money up! There is no better time than the present to add an additional revenue stream into your household.
