In this episode of Get Your Cash Flow Up, The MissCFO Team discusses the controversy of Geoffrey Owens. Geoffrey Owens, known for his role as Elvin in The Cosby Show was “outed” as a cashier at Trader Joe’s by a customer. In his “outing” Owens explained that he believes in honest work and he had to do what he had to do to keep a roof over his families head.

This sparked the conversation of. when times get hard are you willing to humble yourself to take care of yourself and your family? Have you ever had to take work outside of your field or work that you felt like was beneath you to survive?

We dig into this discussion because on your financial freedom journey you will never know what you might have to do to stay afloat. I know it’s hard to imagine, but could you go from the C Suite to the cashier line if it came down to it?

We would anticipate that the average person wouldn’t cause you know pride is a hell of a thing;

What would my Momma say?

What would my church family say?

What would my friends say?

You know what we would say at MissCFO?

Who gives a damn they don’t pay your bills!

So let’s be honest and have the conversation about this topic. Trust and believe there will come a time when you will have to make some hard decisions about your career.

So drop down in the comments and share how you feel about survival work and share with your girlfriends! This is a share-worthy topic!
